Irondequoit Garden Walks is a free event, and no tickets or advance registration are required.
What are the dates and hours for Irondequoit Garden Walks 2026?
Irondequoit Garden Walks 2026 takes place Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM each day.
How can I find the participating gardens?
Our official garden map is available in several formats:
- Free printed maps at participating sponsor locations, while supplies last
- A downloadable map to print at home
- A mobile-friendly interactive map
During event hours, printed maps will also be available at the Welcome Center at Vineyard Church, 2150 Portland Avenue, while supplies last.
You do not need to begin at the Welcome Center. Visitors may start at any participating garden and explore in any order.
What happens if it rains or severe weather is expected?
Irondequoit Garden Walks is a rain-or-shine event, and a little rain will not stop the gardens from welcoming visitors.
Severe weather or unsafe conditions may delay, pause, or cancel some or all event activities. Please check our website and Facebook page before and during the event for official updates. If thunder is heard, please leave garden areas and seek safe shelter indoors or inside a vehicle.
What should I bring with me?
We recommend comfortable walking shoes, water, sunscreen, a hat, and a charged mobile phone if you plan to use the interactive map. Depending on the forecast, consider bringing an umbrella, waterproof outerwear, or insect repellent.
How will I know which gardens are open?
Look for the yellow Irondequoit Garden Walks signs in front yards. Each sign will indicate which areas of the property are open to visitors, including the front, side, or back garden.
Please enter only the areas marked as open. If a sign has been removed or a garden is temporarily closed, please continue to another participating garden.
Where can I park?
There are no designated event parking areas at individual gardens. Please use legal on-street parking where available, follow all posted signs, and avoid blocking driveways, sidewalks, fire hydrants, intersections, or neighboring properties.
Some gardens are clustered within neighborhoods, making it possible to park once and visit several locations on foot. Walking and biking are also encouraged where practical.
Are public restrooms available?
Public restrooms are available at the Welcome Center at Vineyard Church, 2150 Portland Avenue. Restrooms are not available at participating private gardens.
Are the gardens wheelchair or stroller accessible?
Accessibility varies by garden and may include grass, gravel, narrow paths, steps, slopes, or uneven surfaces. Please consult the official map for any accessibility information provided by individual garden hosts and use your own judgment when entering a property.
Are children welcome?
Children are welcome when accompanied and closely supervised by an adult. Please remember that these are private residential gardens and may include ponds, steps, delicate plants, uneven surfaces, or other natural hazards.
May I take photographs?
Personal photography is generally welcome unless a garden host indicates otherwise. Please respect residents’ privacy, avoid photographing people without permission, and do not enter closed areas to take a picture.
May I bring my dog?
We love dogs, but please leave pets at home. Trained service animals assisting a person with a disability are permitted.
